Bowling Night
by Bernardo Pisarzewski
Collector cars? Bowling? How the two mix,
I 'll never know
.but here we are.
At the suggestion of our benevolent director
(and long-time Jaguar-phile) Bernard Bellavance, the VEA
held a bowling night, in order to fill a vacancy in the
activities calendar for the month of January. Perhaps
bowling might not be everyone's cup of tea, but for the
few that braved the first winter storm of 2007, the trek
was well worth it.
About a dozen die-hard members congregated
in Chateauguay, to show off their bowling skills (or lack
of). Given that most in attendance were not seasoned bowlers,
competition gave way to good natured frustration. Apart
from the two lanes that were reserved for the club, the
gutter lane saw frequent traffic, especially by those
who NEVER bowled before. However, if bowling was not your
forté, then the pizza and beer that was offered
by the VEA, certainly hit the spot. Or if you weren't
a pizza and beer aficionado, then seeing a group of seasoned
car collectors (wearing flashy bowling shoes) trying to
master the intricacies of bowling, certainly would have
tickled anyone's funny bone.
The VEA thanks André Gagné
for having organized this enjoyable evening and hopefully
we'll see more of you next year.
