MORNING AT CLASSIC EURO AUTO
by Bernardo Pisarzewski
Given our harsh Canadian winters,
it is only normal that our cars don't see much road time
However, that doesn't mean that the VEA is dormant during the
hibernal hiatus. In what has become a tradition, Pierre from Classic
Euro Auto invited the members of the VEA to take part in the annual
tech session at his facilities in the South Shore. As usual, a
large number of the members were in attendance and an informal
session/seminar was given on the subject of interiors.
Mr. Henri Chamsi, president
of Henri Seat Covers, enlightened us on the labours and details
involved in successfully upholstering your classic car's interior.
Mr. Chamsi mentioned that although some materials and fabrics
were scarce, there never was an interior that he couldn't complete.
When patterns or pre-fabed seats (or other interior fittings)
were not available, he had to rely on photographs to duplicate
and fabricate interiors by hand. A true artisan of yesteryear.
Also on hand was a spanking
new Lotus Exige S on display from John Scotti Autos.
A gorgeous little go-kart
that was a real challenge getting
in and out of.
And as usual, door prizes
and other goodies were offered from the good people at Castrol
Oil. A heartfelt thank you goes to our gracious host Pierre and
we wish him continued success for many years to come.
