PRESIDENT'S WORD
JULY 2002
For the majority of us who reside
in Quebec, it can be said that this past winter left us somewhat
perplexed. The winter-like spring which followed a spring-like
winter and a late attempt at summer did not discourage the
die-hards among us, even if the engines spent more time idling
in our garages that on the roads of our great province.
All this did little to hamper our spirits, and one can
witness this by counting the ever-increasing members in
attendance at the club's activities.
We're we just a tad spoiled during the last three months?
The Sugar Shack, Citroen outing, Grand-prix evening on Peel
Street and the Solstice Rally, one cannot say that the VEA
hardly takes to the road.
And the season is not over just yet. The Italian Spaghettata
on the 21st of July, the exposition during the Trois-Rivières
Grand Prix on August 2nd, 3rd and 4th, the Gala Evening
during the Montreal Raid on the 14th of August, the VEA's
Grand Outing on the 24th and 25th of August and Apple Picking
on the 22nd of September are all on the way!
This is what we can all look forward to, until the October
issue of your favorite (rich-in-color, and wittily entitled)
magazine, the "Autosiaste." In passing, the October
issue will be published under the direction of Daniel Baragiotta,
our new Director of Publications. After nineteen issues
over five years, I felt that it was time to graciously step
aside and let someone else take command. I am confident
that Daniel will be able to improve (ever more) your well-loved
revue, along with our new Webmaster, Dominic Fortier, who
has taken over the upkeep of the VEA's website.
Here forth, I will simply remain:
VEAhemently yours!
