PRESIDENT'S WORD
April 2010
by Germain Cornet
Congratulations to our members, nearly all the registrations
to the club were paid by January sending our beloved treasurer
straight to financial heaven!
Our club is doing very well; activities compete on the 2010
calendar meanwhile our monthly dinner at the Ambroisie draws
more and more people together every first Wednesday of the
month.
Despite the negative media attention given to the world
of automobiles, we continue to stand by our passion and
persist on sharing it with others.
In the case of the VEA we could not go on without the dedication
and enthusiasm or our leading team, Alois Fürer who
stuffs us with nice cakes, Bernard Bellavance our unique
orator, Bernardo Pisarzewski who supervises the president's
expenses as well as the others always willing to give a
hand and debate ideas.
In February we launched our first ever 'Ladies night' organized
in our friend David Sepulchre's private lounge where Danielle
Robichaud and Bernard Bellavance had put together an unforgettable
evening. Look for Paul Tronc retelling of the evening in
the following pages
it is definitely a must have on
our future calendars to warm up our winter months.
Beyond pleasant activities and dinners, we are also dealing
with serious issues pertaining to new laws and regulations
issued by the government, such as the anti pollution controls
or the prohibition of the right hand drive cars on the Quebec's
roads.
Meanwhile, we are also continuing participating in and pushing
for the Automobile Museum project (La Cité de l'Automobile).
Last but not least, we have recently joined the forces of
the 'Concours d'Élégance Le Mirage' with the
'Championnat international de Blainville' to set up a even
more glamorous event casting horses and automobiles.
As winter fades away, get your classics ready for the summer,
look for our multiple activities in the web pages of the
club. and let me assure you that 2010 will not be boring!!
