THE 29TH ANNUAL SUPPER

at "Le Drummond"

THE BEST ONE YET

by Bob Forest

March 29, 2003 at the corner of Drummond and De Maisonneuve, a large group of members celebrated the coming of spring, and looking forward to taking their cars out of winter storage. Who would of guess that it would end, without question as the best Annual Supper ever. We have all heard the term, "A night to remember", well this was not only a night to remember, but a night that was full of wonderful surprises, and I am not talking about the food.

Our club, the VEA is known for the quality and of the different makes of cars, but never have we been known for talent. I mean singing talent. We had a member singing a couple of beautiful ballads. Our own president doing a "Charles Trenet" show with the hat and all. With the ambiance that was there, we could not have had a better time.

After our sumptuous meal and I mean sumptuous, Champagne was poured compliments from the club. Bernardo and his charming wife Mirella concocted marvellous gifts, also compliments of the VEA which were drawn for the pleasure of a lot of winners.

As the evening went on, we had a group of members doing the "Folies Bergères". I have never seen a group having such a great time. Usually at these events, by 10pm it is over. At 11:30pm we were still singing and dancing. Spring is in the air this night.

The VEA wants a big thank you to Bernard, the owner of Le Drummond for opening his restaurant at the last minute notice. For those who do not know Le Drummond, it is always closed on weekends, but for the VEA, Bernard opened his doors for us. We had the whole place to ourselves. Thanks also to Drummond's styled service, Yves, Jean-Pierre and Pascal.

Thanks to our president, Richard and Bernardo for this wonderful evening.

It is April 6th and snowing outside, and I am supposed to say, get your cars ready, spring is here. I am wondering if ever we will see spring.

Enjoy the pictures and see what you missed, and try next year, which will be our 30th Anniversary. I am sure it will be a very special evening.
