Beutler (Switzerland) 1945-1987

On the 8th of September 1987, one of the best and most known coach-work builder (for cars) of Switzerland, the company Beutler in Thun, became bankrupt. The brothers Fritz and Ernst Beutler, the first was constructor and technician, the second drawer and designer, had their company set up directly after the 2nd World War. They occupied themselves most with building special bodies on existing chassis.

The company started with a Healey, a totally new make from England. After some Healeys were delivered, they started to build a few specials on the chassis of a Bristol.
