CITERIA (The Netherlands)

Was Citeria a Dutch sports car? That was how he was introduced at the Zandvoort circuit on the 17th of November in 1958. And there were a lot of celebrities present, like Stirling Moss, Carel Godin de Beaufort and Hans Hugenholtz Sen.

The two-seats cabriolet with hardtop had a synthetic body placed on a frame chassis and was driven by a two-cylinder BMW-engine. The race-drivers managed 135 km/h on straight stretches of the circuit. Everyone was wildly enthusiast, but the car has never been in production. It remained by a prototype, because the price was not an attractive one for that time. Further, the manufacturer Puck van Beekum couldn't pay his debts. He tried it with falsified checks and when he came out of prison after two and a half years, he decided to quit.
